At Dharamshala.co, we’re passionate about introducing emerging technologies to young minds and helping them bridge the gap between learning and doing. As part of this ongoing mission, we recently hosted a Flutter Basics Session at Government Polytechnic College, Kangra — and the response was nothing short of inspiring.
With 60+ students and faculty members in attendance, the session served as a powerful introduction to Flutter, Google’s open-source framework for building cross-platform mobile applications with a single codebase.
What the Session Covered:
Introduction to Flutter
We kicked off the session by explaining the fundamentals of Flutter — how it works, where it’s used, and why it’s one of the fastest-growing frameworks in the world today.
Live Demo: Building a Simple App
To help attendees see the framework in action, we built a basic mobile app live — showcasing how easily Flutter can be used to develop for Android, iOS, Windows, and more.
Project Reviews & Mentorship
One of the most valuable parts of the session was reviewing student projects. We offered personalized feedback and shared tips on improving their app architecture, UI design, and functionality.
Empowering Tomorrow’s Developers
The session wasn’t just about coding — it was about confidence, curiosity, and clarity. We aimed to equip students with the practical tools and industry insights they need to turn their ideas into functional mobile apps. And judging by the enthusiasm in the room, there’s no doubt we were speaking to some of Himachal’s most promising future developers.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Government Polytechnic College, Kangra for hosting us and to the students for their eager participation.
At Dharamshala.co, we’ll continue to bring learning experiences like these to campuses across the region — building a stronger, more connected tech community right from the grassroots
